The most common questions we get before a booking are not about car models but about conditions: which documents are required, how big the deposit is and what happens if the car gets damaged. Here we answer all of them clearly and without small print.

Which documents do you need?

You only need two documents to collect your car:

  • A valid driving licence held for at least 2 years.
  • A passport or national ID card (EU ID cards are accepted).

Drivers with a licence printed in Latin script can drive with their national licence. If your licence is not in Latin script (for example Chinese, Arabic or Cyrillic from outside the region), we recommend carrying an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with the original.

Deposit: how much and when is it refunded?

The deposit is a guarantee for the car during the rental. At pick-up it is blocked on your card or left in cash, and it is fully refunded when you return the car in the same condition. The amount depends on the vehicle class and starts at €200.

  • With a card block, no money leaves your account – the amount is only reserved.
  • After the return the block is released; banks usually free the funds within a few business days.
  • With full insurance the deposit is significantly reduced.

What does the insurance include?

Every price includes mandatory third-party liability and collision damage cover (CDW). You are protected in case of an accident, and your liability is limited to the excess defined in the contract.
